Cold Laser Therapy

The MR4 and MR5 Super Pulsed Lasers can help rapidly reduce pain, swelling, inflammation, speed up healing and quickly strengthen healed tissues to prevent re-injury.

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) increases the speed of healing by penetrating deep into your bodily tissues increasing blood flow and circulation which increases cellular metabolism accelerating cell repair. Energizing cells accelerates your body’s normal healing process. Cells need energy to function. When cells are damaged, they need more energy to repair, that’s where laser therapy comes in. Laser therapy delivers light to the surface of the skin that penetrates the skin to drive photochemical reactions and ramp up cellular activity by quickly stimulating ATP (energy) production by over 300%. This energy production kick-starts recovery of injured cells and helps you get better faster. Laser therapy isn’t new, it’s been around for over 60 years and is used by the government, professional athletics, and chiropractors around the world. It’s FDA-cleared, safe, and has no known side effects. Laser therapy added to your chiropractic care will fast-track your recovery.

LLLT also helps to generate new healthy cells and tissue in the areas being treated. Clinical studies have shown a reduction in pain, inflammation, edema and an overall faster healing time. The laser creates true healing instead of masking pain as in the case of medication, ice, heat and other therapies.

Laser can penetrate deep into the body affecting the muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, joints and nerves. Laser therapy can be used when you want or need a drug free procedure to control pain, when conventional therapies have been ineffective, or when you want to heal faster from injuries.

Treatment with the Laser is painless consisting of several brief sessions, lasting a couple of minutes to about five minutes per whole body part on average. You should not feel anything during treatment other than the Laser’s applicator coming into contact with your skin and slight warmth. There is no pain, during a treatment.

75 to 80% of patients feel improvement immediately after (and sometimes during) treatment. Chronic conditions, especially if you’ve had them for a long time, take multiple treatments. Most conditions require 3-6 treatments for significant alleviation of symptoms.

Acute severe inflammatory conditions respond almost immediately to Laser treatments. Laser can penetrate up to 4-5 inches effectively treating pain, swelling, edema, inflammation, muscle spasm, trigger points, bone, joints and nerves. Laser increases both collagen and fibroblast activity which are involved in the healing of injured soft tissues like strained muscles and sprained ligaments. Professional athletes are using this therapy to heal injuries faster. Laser treated tissues are stronger after recovery than with natural healing alone.

Treatment with the cold laser can relieve pain in the following conditions: Neck pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain, shingles pain, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, tension and migraine headaches, tendinitis, bursitis, plantar fasciitis/heel spurs, tennis elbow, arthritic joints, sciatica, trigger points, post-surgical pain (including total knee or hip replacements, spine surgeries, and rotator cuff repairs), TMJ, Fibromyalgia and more. It is beneficial to receive laser therapy as “prehab” prior to surgery to ensure a better outcome. LLLT was first cleared by the FDA in 2002. It is now FDA approved for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain, Fibromyalgia Muscle and joint pain, Stiffness associated with arthritis, Pain associated with muscle spasms, Hand pain and wrist pain associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Neck pain, Lower back pain and Wound healing.
